Dear Friends of Saint Paul’s Monastery,
.
It was around this time last year that we were preparing to celebrate
the Sesquicentennial of the Passionists coming to North America.
It was a year of many wonderful events that we, and I’m sure you also,
remember and will treasure. It is hard to believe the Passionists
community has been serving the Diocese of Pittsburgh and all the people
for 151 years. During this past year we at various meetings
have made a firm commitment, that while many changes will be going on in
the Church in the United States, we will continue our ministry and
service to the people of Pittsburgh and all who come seeking God’s help.
.
As the holidays/holydays of Thanksgiving, Advent, Christmas
and Epiphany are coming soon upon us, we are challenged to rise to
a new spirit of thankfulness and joy. In spite of situations in the
world and in our Church, we know that God is continually blessing us as
long as we stay authentic and open to Him. The history of salvation
teaches us that redemption is a long and on-going process.
But when we stand in the Light, the marvels and mystery of Redeeming Love
will find us and fill our hearts.
.
May the joyful occasions with family and friends fill our days during these
holiday times, and may our celebration of the birth of the One called Wondrous
Counselor, Lord of Lords and Prince of Peace bring His gifts in a deeper
and richer way into our hearts and homes.
.
We would be delighted to have you join us here at St. Paul’s Monastery
for our various Liturgies during the holiday season, and also for
our weekly Monday Novena Services honoring our Passionists Saints,
St. Paul of the Cross, St. Gabriel and St. Gemma.
.
As we celebrate the coming of our Savior, may His presence and peace
come to you and all our loved ones.
.
In Christ’s Passion,
.
V. Rev. Richard A. Nalepa, C.P.
