GOD COMES TO MEET US
by Sr Ann Albrecht, CSJ

Last year Pope John-Paul II asked all Catholics to celebrate the great gift and mystery of the Holy Eucharist.
What difference does the Eucharist make in your life and mine?
In the Eucharist do we experience the presence of Christ, who reveals to us who God is?
In the Eucharist do we realize that we are incorporated more and more into the Body of Christ
and that in that body we find our true identity?
Are we aware that through the Eucharist, the Holy Spirit empowers us, as Church, to continue the mission of Christ?
We become ambassadors of reconciliation, ministers of healing, sacraments of God’s love.

  • In the Eucharist we find the meaning of life.
  • In the Eucharist we come into contact with the mysterious plan of God.
  • In the Eucharist we become Church.

That is why Pope John Paul II proclaimed,
“The Eucharist is the source and summit of life and mission of the Church.”

It’s “HOLYDAY TIME” again!

THIS & THAT

Don’t miss any information in this newsletter!  There is so much going on.

Last newsletter I forgot to thank the photographer who took the pictures of Fr Dwyer.  Thank you to Carl Davis Jr!

Thank you also to: the Knights of Columbus of Central NY for their generous check, and Jane Long who shared about us at Holy Cross in Dewitt
and to the members of Holy Cross who were so welcoming and gave so willingly.

Thank you also to those who support the newsletter

Thank you to those who bought “Shares” to help send the four Deaf teens to the National Catholic Youth Conference.  As this is being written, the teens are getting ready to go.

Marion Baratta writes of the St Lucy’s news:
On Aug 21st, the Deaf Community participated in a special Mass at Skiddy Park for justice for the neighborhood children and the end of crime.
Joan Keeffe’s sister Ann and niece flew from NM to vacation with her and their brother Fr Tony.
Ken Hudson, interpreter at St Lucy’s, received his nursing degree.  He was hired in Rochester but still  comes home on weekends to visit and interpret.
