Our Community: The Body Of Christ

These pictures were taken October 21st at a Deaf Youth retreat in Ancaster, Ontario.  Some of our Confirmation students joined other students from Ottawa, Toronto, and the Milton School.  Deacon Patrick Graybill led them in learning about themselves and the Body of Christ.
 
The picture below shows them as a body: hair, eyes, ears, nose, mouth, hands, stomach and legs.  (Can you imagine it?!)   We learned that everyone is
special and important and needed.


Yes, the Catholic Deaf Community of the Syracuse Diocese  needs each other.  We need each of us! From
the  North, South, East, and West. We love each other and  support each other and we work together.  We are Christ’s body on earth. 

Deaf helping Deaf.  Can you help at Mass to be Readers or Ministers?  Can you visit the Deaf at home or in nursing homes?  Can you teach the young Deaf..
in religion class or in youth ministry?  Share your special, important skills with Our Community.
