The Bronze Pelican Award of the Diocese of Tulsa may be presented to any adult involved in Catholic Scouting, Camp Fire or other similar organizations within the Tulsa Diocese. The Tulsa Diocesan Catholic Committee on Scouting and Camp Fire provides the Bronze Pelican Emblem to a Scouter and others as recognition of their efforts in developing, in Catholic youth, the habitual awareness of god in all their scouting or other youth activities. A recommendation for this award should include all pertinent facts, dates and positions held. (Use CANDIDATE RECORD FOR RELIGIOUS AWARD application form.) The history should be as complete as possible. Service to Catholic youth or in Catholic sponsored units should be clearly identified.

This is not a national recognition, and is not a program of the National Catholic Committee on Scouting. (In answer to an often asked question... No, the BSA square knot is not authorized to be worn to represent the Bronze Pelican.)

A nominee must be involved in some Catholic phase of Boy Scouting, Girl Scouting, Camp Fire or similar Catholic youth activity for a minimum of three years.

A nominee must have completed Catholic SCOUTER DEVELOPMENT.

Their pastor must approve a nominee. A recommendation from the pastor will be considered as an indication of the active standing of the nominee within the church.
