I was born and raised in Plover, Wisconsin. My parents
sent me to Catholic schools until the fourth grade. I played soccer throughout
grade school and also became active in the Boy Scouts of America. In my
junior year of high school, I began working as an apprentice in mechanical
enginnering. My initial desire was to become an engineer, but our Lord
had different plans. Upon graduating from Stevens Point Area Senior High
in 1998, I took classes at a public university for one year. My second
year out of high shool, I served with a traveling youth ministry team,
the National Evangelization Team, for one year. During this year, I felt
God calling me to priesthood. I applied to be a seminarian for the diocese
of LaCrosse, and the next fall was in the seminary of St. John Vianney
in St. Paul, Minnesota. After two great years, I applied and was accepted
to study intensive philosophy at a seminary in Washington, DC. Here in
Washington, I am studying, praying and seeking to follow God's will in
my life. Please pray for me. |

Franz S. Klein

My name is Franz Klein, and I am the oldest of 11 children. I grew
up in Stevens Point, am from St. Peters Parish, and attended St. Peter
Middle School, graduating from Pacelli High School in 2000. In high
school I enjoyed athletics out of class, and my favorite classroom subject
was English. I continue to run as a seminarian, competing in marathons
and other road races, and continue my interest in English with a possible
minor in the subject. I look forward to, God willing, serving someday not only as a priest, but in particular as a priest of this diocese. I have grown up here, and love everything from the people to something so unimportant as the way the seasons change. I worked maintenance for the Sisters of St. Joseph, TOSF (Stevens Point) all through high school and up to this year, and they have given me a great respect for the Church in this area, its expansion, and the persevering faith of the Poles, Germans, and other ethnic groups that settled the area. Please pray for me, just as I pray to someday serve you humbly as a priest.

Jesse D. Burish

Hello, my name is Jesse Burish and I am studying at St. John Vianney College Seminary at the University of St. Thomas in St. Paul, MN. My hometown is Wausau, WI and my home parish is St. Matthew's. My parents are David and Marie and I'm the oldest of three. I have two younger brothers, Christopher and Jamison. I graduated from Newman High School in Wausau. My parents, grandparents, teachers, the priests that I have known growing up, and of course the Holy Spirit all had a strong impact on my faith and my sense of vocation. There were many times throughout high school that I thought about the priesthood, but I had my heart set on being an architect. After high school I went to UW - Milwaukee and majored in architecture. As much as I enjoyed architecture the two years I was in Milwaukee, the thought that God might be calling me to be a priest kept coming back. Having worked a retreat just after Christmas 2001, I was compelled to seriously explore the possibility of entering seminary. Although I couldn't be certain that God was calling me to be a priest, I did have a very strong sense that he was calling me to the seminary to help me grow in holiness and discern my vocation. Since I've been in the seminary, God has not only challenged me, but also blessed me in many ways. St. John Vianney, Pray for us! |
