WCCC History - Winter 2006

Some messages from WCCCers at the end of this eventful term...

"I think there should be a theme for the whole term that the facilitators could use. So the themes aren't so scattered and we could focus more on a particular theme. Also, I really like the fact that WCCC was more involved helping out with different functions like the God and Sex talk by Peter Erb. I felt that WCCC was more involved."

"The term has been great with great attendance and new members!"

"Retreat was wonderful & it would be great if we can have a speaker to spark us up each term!"

"Memorable meetings: David Wang (9+ kids + Critical Mass), going to mass together"

"McMaster Joint mass was an enlightening experience since I was able to meet other youth that had similar beliefs as our WCCC."

"I enjoyed the most from this term was the opportunity to work closely with COMPASS and YFC. I feel we can learn a lot from them."

"I feel a lot of WCCC members have a lot to share but most have not spoken up at times. I think there should be more events for people to be more open."

"This term was very successful since there were many members that attended each meeting. In particular, the various joint events such as the Jean Vanier talk, guest speakers David Wang and the God and Sex talk by Dr. Peter Erb were informative and inspirational. Thank you, Holy Spirit, for guiding our community along our journey of growth."

"I really enjoyed the meetings this term. I cherish the growing bond between each member of the group. These people will remain my friends for many years to come. I encourage others to join WCCC because the meetings will strengthen your faith. It will also allow you to participate in many meaningful activities."

"The program for the term was not bad, there were lots of good questions that I can bring home with me. But the theme is too loose."

"Community is one of the words that keep coming up in this term's events and I began to realize how community is a source of faith renewal. Not until the term when I came across difficult times I would think of turning to WCCC."

"Another wonderful term with WCCC. I have built many friendships that I cherish deeply. I feel that our retreat in the beginning of the term has been a transforming experience of the group. May the Holy Spirit continue to guide us on our faith journey."

"I personally think this term has been great! I could strongly feel God's presence in several meetings. I also want to thank God for looking after WCCC this term."

"I really enjoy the meetings where there were guest speakers. I think that more interaction between the members might be good for more people to feel involved."

* * * * * * * * *

"I think maybe there can be a rosary gathering once a month."

"WCCC has changed a lot with many new faces, but the community spirit remains unchanged. Thanks God for uniting us and fill our group with blessings."

"Some of the meetings were quite well-prepared and they have made me think about my our personal values and views as a member of the Catholic Church. What I would like to see myself doing more, however, is to continue to think about these issues and to practice them even after the meeting, to practice what I preach and to walk Jesus's path."
