Formation

After about six months postulate, the candidate becomes a novice by taking the habit which is the Traditional black Benedictine habit. The novitiate lasts for two years. During this period, a Sister gives herself to serious study. She attends classes about the holy Rule, the Vows, Constitution, and also about the Bible, Catechism of the Council of Trent, Liturgy and Church Fathers. At the end of the novitiate, the novice commits herself to the service of God by making simple vows of poverty, chastity, obedience and conversion of morals. The vows are taken for three years or annually for three consecutive years, at the end of which the Sister is admitted to her final profession. If for canonical reasons, a candidate is unable to make Consecration, she may still offer her life to God as an Oblate or Lay Sister. In this case she would receive the black veil after two years of formation.

Living a virtuous life.
A longing desire to consecrate one's whole being to God and to serve Him alone.
A persistent call to Religious Life over a number of years.
A desire to live a humble and hidden life of prayer and penance in the silence of solitude and in community.
A love for the holy traditions of the One, Holy, Catholic and Apostolic Church.
Willing to work hard.
Willing to live under obedience.
In good health.
Aged between 21 and 45 years.
