Zaria Diocese
The Nigerian Federation of Catholic Students is the umbrella body of which all Catholic students in all tertiary institutions belong.
The Nigerian Federation of Catholic Students, N.F.C.S. is affiliated with Pax Romana, an international movement for Catholic Students, which was founded in 1921 at Fribourg, Switzerland. From here, it has spread to all parts of the world. The continent of Africa was not left behind for it has its headquarters in Kenya in the Eastern part of Africa where it co-ordinates the activities of the international movement of Catholic Students in Africa.
Here in A.B.U. we don’t have the available records of when it started in this great institution, but from the records available, it was said to have been registered with the school authority sometime in 1997. It all started as a small body, but gradually it has grown to a stage where each faculty has her own fellowship, and officers to run her activities, while the central body within the school co-ordinates the activities of all the faculties of which they meet once a month with a population of about one thousand five hundred.

THE AIMS AND OBJECTIVES OF THE N.F.C.S
-Carrying out complete development of the Catholic ideals in the student in all fields within tertiary institutions as well as intellectual and social life based on the best traditions of the Christian past as well as trying to meet the exigencies of the present times.
-Promoting the culture of peace and active non violence in Africa as well as to promote peaceful and harmonious co-existence between Christians and Muslims students.
-To fight against poverty in its roots, conflicts, bad governance, social injustice and other societal ills and how to improve on them as future leaders.
