Loving Father, we are disturbed and troubled by what is happening in our beloved country, once known for tolerance, where people of all faiths lived in peace and harmony. Today, the minorities, and we Christians in particular are misunderstood, suspected and persecuted, resulting in torture and deaths of priests and sisters.
Echoing the sentiments of your son on the Cross,"Father, forgive them for they know not what they do". We too ask you Father to forgive our persecutors. And in response to the Commandment of Love, we ask you to help us love our enemies, do good to those who hate us and while pray for those who persecute us, we ask you to enlighten them to realize the wrong they are doing. We make this prayer through the same Christ Our Lord, who lives and reigns with You and the Holy Spirit, One God forever and ever. Amen.
Lord, we thank you for the wonderful success you gave us in our fund raising drive by helping us collect a substantial amount. Lord, at every step we want to do your will and carry out your plans for our Church. We now have before us the arduous task of implementing the construction plans. Lord, we are faced with the major problems of obtaining the approval from the concerned authorities. At this moment, we earnestly ask you to take up cause, and inspire those who are in a position to help us, to do so. We make this prayer, mindful of the words of the psalmist,"Unless the Lord build the house, those who build it, labour in vain" St. Francis Xavier, our patron, model and guide, we ask you to present this our prayer to Jesus, who lives and reigns with the Father and the Holy Spirit, one God forever and ever. Amen.
